Comparing the 2 biggest names in Country Music

 Morgan Wallen vs. Luke Combs

Over the past few years, Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs have become two of the biggest names in country music. Both artists have had massive success, but they each bring something unique to the table. While they share similarities, there are also some key differences in their music and styles.

First, let’s talk about Morgan Wallen. Known for his hit songs like “Whiskey Glasses” and “Last Night,” Wallen’s music blends country with elements of pop and rock. His deep voice and emotional lyrics connect with fans, especially the younger generation. Wallen’s style is often more laid-back and raw, with themes of love, heartbreak, and partying. He has a way of mixing traditional country with modern sounds, making his music feel fresh and relatable.

On the other hand, Luke Combs is known for his powerful voice and traditional country sound. Songs like “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and “When It Rains It Pours” showcase his talent for telling stories through music. Combs stays closer to classic country roots, with his music often featuring catchy hooks and a more upbeat, feel-good vibe. His lyrics tend to focus on everyday life, from small-town living to finding happiness in the simple things.

Wallen and Combs have had incredible success that can be compared Wallen is breaking new charts, and Combs is selling out stadiums throughout the United StatesThere is something about Wallen's music that is more experimental and modern, while Combs maintains style of country that appeals to all and puts his in a loyal category.

Whether, you like Wallen'unique blend or Combs' traditional country sound, its undeniable  that these two artists have left a big mark on the country music genre forever.

Radio Airplay Bias

 Radio Airplay Bias

Radio airplay bias is probably one of the biggest problems in country music today. What that involves is certain artists get played on the radio more just because they're signed with major label or they're a major star to start withWhat then happens is there are some of the really good artists that don't get heard at all because they're not on major labels and aren't necessarily big-name stars yet.

The majority of the radio stations rely on large record labels to supply them with songs to airThe labels are influential and capable of marketing their artists, so they can simply secure airplay for their tracksIt favors mainstream artists who already have a fan basedisadvantage independent artists and new artists. These unknown artists may have great songs, but because they don't have the same assistance or network, their songs don't get the airplay they deserve on radio.

This bias
is a problem because it restricts the range of music that is heard. When few artists are overplaying on the radio, it'difficult for fresh voices or alternate styles to receive airplay. It also keeps listeners stuck with the same few songs, and this makes the country music world seem dull and repetitive.

In order to make genuine changethe radio stations need to play more than the top label artists. Quality artists of any label and degree of fame should be able to get their music played. It is time to open the doors to the indie and new artists and let the music speak for itself. The artist should be what controls playing time, not industry influence or popularity.
